Discover the secrets behind our products and ingredients.
We explain the most important beauty issues from F to S.
F is for...
Refresh and protect your skin with our Multi-Protection Mist. This facial spray features a blend of butterfly bush extract, antioxidant Q10, ectoin and silk proteins to leave the skin softer, supple and visibly luminous, while protecting from the harmful rays emitted from our digital devices.
Produced by UV radiation, free radicals attack essential molecules in the skin such as lipids, proteins and DNA. To combat this our products contain antioxidants that bind the free radicals and shield your skin. Try our Deep Cleansing Oil, infused with Vitamin E, known to fight free radicals and nourish the skin.
Unwanted wrinkles can be caused by the frequent tension of various facial muscles. Initially small lines form when the face relaxes. However, if the face is permanently tense and the circulation is disturbed, the wrinkles become deeper over time and finally remain. At Susanne Kaufmann, we recommend a special fascia massage to help to reduce expression lines - we use this technique in our treatments and recommend it at home too.
Organic hydroxycarboxylic and dicarboxylic acids are found in fruit, and can improve the skin's texture. They help target impurities, wrinkles and dull skin. You'll find them in our Enzyme Exfoliator and Invigorating Face Gel.
G is for...
A powerful antioxidant, grapeseed oil works to prevent skin ageing by minimising damage caused by free radicals. It helps keep hair silky and smooth.
A skin-repairing substance, glycerin replenishes and restores the complexion by drawing and absorbing water from the air, helping the skin to retain moisture. All of our products use only the highest quality vegetable-derived glycerin.
Here are our tried and tested tips for achieving a glowing, radiant complexion:
- Before applying serums, start with a gentle peel to absorb the product better.
- Use our Face Roller to kickstart circulation and your lymphatic system.
- Stimulate skin with a facial massage for a natural, plumping effect.
'Green beauty' is skincare's latest buzzword. But for us, it's far more than simply a trend: Susanne has always believed in the power of plants and their natural active ingredients, which is why they can be found in all of our products.
H is for...
When the skin overproduces melanin due to sun exposure or hormonal imbalance it can lead to skin discolouration - known as hyperpigmentation. Combat this with our Body Protection Sunscreen SPF 25 during the day, and then at night apply our Purifying Serum. This highly effective face serum is developed with alpine willowherb and burdock root extracts to clarify the skin, fight impurities and remove excess oil for a clearer, more even complexion.
We swear by honey for its antibacterial, antiseptic, antioxidant and anti-fungal properties. You can find it in many of our products, including our iconic Body Butter.
When it comes to hydration, hyaluronic acid will solve all your moisture needs. Ours is purely plant-derived and obtained from the aloe vera plant - discover its benefits in the best-selling Hyaluron Serum.
As Susanne explains: "It's important to drink enough water because if we don't, the vessels constrict, and you can very quickly see it in the complexion. Moisturising creams, fluids and masks containing hyaluronic acid also help to lock moisture into the skin."
Hands are usually the first place to prematurely age, yet they are also often the most overlooked when it comes to the beauty stakes. To give your hands some TLC, apply our Hand Scrub, gently scrub and rinse, then massage our Hand Moisturiser for velvety soft hands.
I is for...
We've all had spots appear out of nowhere overnight. Tackle impurities head-on (without drying out your skin) with our Purifying Serum, specifically formulated for blemish-prone skin.

There are so many reasons why we love juniper. Take, for instance, its antibacterial and antiseptic properties or the fact that it can reduce puffiness and cellulite, as well for improving circulation. Find it in our Mallow Blossom Bath.
K is for...
If you're going on holiday, don't forget to pack your skincare essentials in a travel kit. Choose from our wide selection of mini and travel-size skincare products to keep your skin glowing on the go.
A naturally occurring mineral clay, kaolin has been used on the skin for hundreds of years, particularly throughout Asia. Benefits include drawing excess oil, removing impurities and preventing blemishes. You can find it in our Purifying Clay Mask — highly effective yet gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin types.
L is for...

In addition to lavender’s natural calming and balancing effects, it's also very multi-purpose, which is why you can find it in many of our products, such as our bestselling Calming Pillow Spray. Spritz on your pillow before you go to bed for a good night's sleep, or use it as a room spray.
M is for...

Also known as 'lemon balm', Melissa is a wonder ingredient grown at our home in Bezau, Austria. It has strong antiviral and anti-fungal effects, plus skin-balancing and calming properties.
Meadowfoam Seed Oil
Rich in fatty acids, meadowfoam intensely moisturises and leaves the skin soft and silky smooth - without a greasy residue that you can sometimes get with other oils. It's one of the key ingredients in our Age Preventive Skincare range.
N is for...
An active, water-soluble form of vitamin B3, niacinamide is a true multi-tasker. It improves cell turnover and microcirculation, has powerful antioxidant and antibacterial properties and also helps regulate sebum production. You can find it in our cult Nutrient Serum serum.
Night Creams & Serums
While we sleep, our skin is in regeneration mode. This is why it's the optimum time to use night creams and serums. Formulated with the finest natural ingredients from local sources, our night creams repair and regenerate the skin during the night to reveal beautiful skin in the morning, day after day. There are also some ingredients in night creams that make our skin more sensitive to sunlight (such as many forms of retinol), so it's important to check for what's in your skin care.
Susanne is a passionate believer in the power of clean beauty products and the highly effective results they can deliver. That's why you'll never find these lurking in our products: parabens, silicones, artificial colorants and fragrance, or any other toxic chemical for that matter.
O is for...
Orange Peel Oil
We love Orange Peel Oil for its calming, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. It's also rich in d-limonene, which helps maintain normal cellular growth. You can find it in our Calming Pillow Spray.
Hand-crafted, our face roller is the perfect complement to any skin care regimen. It works to stimulate blood circulation, relieve inflammation and helps your serums to absorb more effectively into the skin (so that you get the most out of the powerful ingredients).
Did you know you that face oils are great even for combination or oily skin types? The key is using a 'dry' oil that's rich in unsaturated fatty acids, lightweight and non-comedogenic so that it doesn't clog your pores. We use natural oils for our body care as well as for some face products. Susanne's tip: For the best results, apply your oils on damp skin.
P is for...
You might have heard of them before, but perhaps not sure what all the fuss it about. A type of preservative first introduced in beauty products in the fifties, parabens are used by many brands to prolong the amount of time they can sit on a shelf. However, there are many downsides to parabens, such as they are believed to disrupt our hormone function and are also harmful to marine life when they end up in the ocean. This is why you'll never find any kind of paraben in our products.
Peeling (also often referred to as exfoliating) is the key to achieving a radiant complexion. Why? Because it removes dead skin cells and impurities, and also makes way for your serums and creams can penetrate deeper into the skin. Try our bestselling Enzyme Exfoliator, which contains fruit acids that gently remove dead skin cells to reveal an instantly brighter complexion. It's highly effective, yet also very gentle, so it's suitable for even the most sensitive skin types.
Pollution Skin Defence System
If you live in the city then air pollution is impossible to avoid. But thanks to our Pollution Skin Defence System you can now counteract its harmful effects and protect against environmental damage. A first-of-its-kind treatment, this system consists of three perfectly matched vials packed with powerful concentrations of Vitamin C, Ectoin and Q10, designed to be used together as a 15-day regimen.

S is for...

So many products out there contain silicones, but not ours. This is because we use broccoli seed oil which is an ideal natural alternative. Not only is this oil rich in antioxidants and vitamins, but it also leaves hair feeling soft and silky.

Extracts of St. John’s Wort, wild pansy and coneflower soothe and regenerate, helping to reduce pore size, while honey and hyaluronic acid deeply moisturise for a velvety soft feel.
