Sustainability has been at the heart of our brand since the very beginning. Our commitment to being an environmentally responsible brand is our hallmark and influences everything we do at Susanne Kaufmann, from our manufacturing processes to the ingredients we source and the packaging we choose for our award-winning products. 

For us, sustainability is no longer about doing less harm to the planet, it’s about doing more good; an ongoing commitment to preserve our planet for future generations long after we are gone. We strive to ensure we excel in best practise when it comes to sustainability; it’s a constantly evolving journey and our dedicated teams are focused on researching new developments every day.

A New Definition of Luxury

Susanne’s philosophy guides our approach to natural, sustainable beauty. She built the brand on these sustainable principles almost two decades ago, and this commitment to the planet remains the backbone of the Susanne Kaufmann brand to this day. Luxury does not need to be about excess. It is about the integrity and quality of the products we make, whilst ensuring they respect the environment.

These core values will always influence the way in which we work at Susanne Kaufmann and will continue to be a vital criteria when developing future products.

This definition of luxury has strongly influenced the design and manufacture of our packaging and we remain dedicated to using production and manufacturing processes that leave a lighter footprint on the earth. 

We look for the best of the best when it comes to full circle sustainability, ensuring that our environmentally responsible philosophy surpasses simply the materials we use to cover manufacturing processes, the energy we use and the impact this has on the planet. 

From our partnership with pioneering natural producers, to our solar powered production house, which runs on solar, thermal and green electricity sources, and our new refill packaging, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 55%, this truly is full circle sustainability. 

Ingredients Reimagined

Over the last two years, Susanne and her team have continued to build on our founding values. We have researched the latest developments in responsible packaging solutions and efficacious Alpine ingredients, with a laser focus on minimising our carbon footprint and respecting our planet.
We have sourced new, intelligent ingredient complexes from nearby regions in Austria and Switzerland for our award-winning products that deliver the same highly effective results that our skincare is loved and known for. These small but hugely significant updates to our formulas have allowed us to close the distance between the ingredient source and our production facility, significantly reducing our carbon footprint.

Sustainable Packaging

Our packaging has also undergone a sustainable refresh and now features contemporary designs made from thoughtful materials. We have eliminated the need for virgin glass and plastic labels, instead printing directly onto our new recycled jars and bottles with sustainable inks. This ensures this packaging can be recycled again and again after it has been used. Our secondary packaging is now made from recycled cardboard which is 100% recyclable. We’ve made all our packaging simpler, reducing it to the max in order to be as sustainable as possible, while protecting the glass containers inside. This new minimalist direction is to us the very essence of luxury and makes us a leader in high-performance, responsible, natural skincare.

New Category And Product Names

In keeping with the updates to our formulas and packaging, we have also refreshed the names of some of our most iconic products and collections. 

Our renamed range focuses on the unique benefits of each product or collection. Our dry skin saviour, Day Cream Line T, for instance, becomes Nourishing Day Cream, while the age preventative benefits of Day Cream Line A is reimagined as Rejuvenating Day Cream.

These changes will make it much easier for you, our loyal and new customers alike, to navigate our range of award-winning products and find the skin solution best for you.

A Consciously Considered Change

We are incredibly proud of the sustainable updates we have made to our brand and we are excited to share these with you. Our commitment to sustainability remains at the very heart of these changes so, for a short while, you may see a mix of our existing and new packaging in stores. We’ve consciously taken this approach to prevent the unnecessary waste that a hard swap would create, and we encourage you to buy or use products in our existing packaging before you try our new designs. Afterall, it’s what’s on the inside that counts and our much-loved formulas remain just as you remember them.
