Regrettably… this hand soap is fantastic.
Short version: My hands have been really healthy since starting to use this hand soap. My partner, who had more severe skin issues on the hands than me, has also noticed a huge difference in the health of his skin since we switched. I have repurchased this hand soap and plan to keep doing so.
Long version & context: We were previously using a refillable cream soap for sensitive skin from a drug store in Germany; it cost less than €1 for 850ml, and it sounds silly now but I never put two and two together that it was not helping, or was contributing to, the issues I had with my skin. I would get extremely flaky, dry and irritated skin on my hands. My wrists would be bright red and sore from irritation. It was really obvious in photos. I put up with it for a long time because I didn't want to start using medicated products.
A couple of years ago I received a full size Susanne Kaufmann (SK) hand soap as a gift with an order for spending over a certain amount. I held on to it for years thinking I would give it as a gift to someone, because I couldn't ever see myself spending that much on hand soap. I came across it at the back of my cupboard recently and just decided to treat myself and use it. I'm really glad I did.
My hands and wrists are visibly very healthy. I don't have any of my previous symptoms. No redness or flaky skin. A couple of times a week I apply a fairly cheap niacinamide-glycerine hand cream you can get in any Apotheke and this routine keeps my hands super…
