It’s finally getting warmer, the sun is out and we are enjoying every ray of sunshine. So that this joy won’t get clouded by a nasty sunburn, sufficient sun protection should be an integral part of the daily skin care routine. This is the only way to optimally protect the skin from the damaging effects of the sun. This is where a jungle of technical term begins. That's why we have created a small guide for you by Susanne Kaufmann™ and added some special skin care tips.
Sun rays. A good sunscreen should protect against harmful UVB and UVA rays. The UVB rays of the sun are responsible for the sunburn on our skin. The less noticeable UVA rays, however, secretly contribute to faster skin aging. Pay attention to the packaging and corresponding seal or a product description which informs you of a protective filter for UVA and UVB rays. The ideal level of sun protection factor depends on your skin type, but should be between at least 20 (for body) and 30 (for face). Soft baby skin needs a SPF with UVA and UVB protection of at least 25.
Filter. Basically, there are two filter categories in sun care: the chemical filter and the mineral filter. Chemical filters convert the sun's rays on the skin into heat, but for this they let the rays into the skin. Mineral filters are made of small particles of zinc or titanium dioxide that reflect the sun's rays away from our skin and prevent them being absorbed.
Susanne Kaufmann sun protection products use a Xperse filter, which consists of zinc, and Elix IR, a special protection against infrared rays. In the Face Sunscreen Protection SPF 30 exclusively natural ingredients provide protection against UVA and UVB rays and infrared-A rays. This helps protect the deeper skin layers from infrared-induced skin aging and increases skin elasticity.
Your body is protected by the Susanne Kaufmann ™ Body Broad Spectrum Protection Sunscreen SPF25. It also has a hybrid protection against UVA and UVB rays according to EU recommendation. The herbal active ingredients ectoin and pentavitin regenerate and repair damaged skin cells and protect against free radicals. It is suitable for all skin types, especially for sensitive skin and children's skin. Both sunscreens absorb quickly and are water resistant.
Maintenance. Our body needs sunlight to boost the production of vitamin D, but too much of it can bring the cardiovascular system and skin out of balance. Avoid the midday sun from 12 to 15 o'clock and make sure that you drink enough to prevent a loss of moisture. Try a chilled refreshing tea from Susanne Kaufmann or ginger lemon water. Your skin is also looking forward to an extra dose of moisture during and above all after sun bathing. The Intensive Anti Aging Serum A can be worn under the sun care for the face. Herbal hyaluronic acid stores moisture in the skin, at the same time the extracts of the mat bean and lupine increase elasticity and stimulate collagen protection. After a day in the sun, your skin is looking forward to a soothing and moisturizing care. Pamper your face with the moisture mask by Susanne Kaufmann: Beeswax, hazelnut and wheat germ oil provide plenty of nourishment. Pansy extract soothes the skin and reduces any feelings of tension. Give your body an extra dose of moisture with After Sun Gel Moisturizing. A 3-dimensional active ingredient concentrate and aloe vera hydrate the skin and intensively nourish it- also helping the tanning effect last longer. After getting a little too much sun, the contained balloon vine extract calms and relaxes. Add to that a dash of the delicately scented moisturizing spray harmonizing and you can relax fully and with a clear conscience.
Enjoy the sun outside!
