What Eye Care Is Best for Me

What Eye Care Is Best for Me - Susanne Kaufmann EN

Look to the power of natural skincare to enhance your beautiful eyes.

"The eyes are the window to the soul." The words of Hildegard of Bingen still ring true today. A quick look at our eyes can tell someone about how we are feeling and what we are thinking. When we are tired or stressed, our eyes often give us away – whether we like it or not. They may not be as vibrant as usual and the area around them may look a little worse for wear. And, if we get too much sun or do not get enough hydration, this may reflect in wrinkles, rings, or dark shadows around our eyes. Luckily, we are here to help you get that spark back in your eyes with our expert tips.

How to Find Eye Care Suitable for Your Skin?

The secret to effective eye care is choosing the right product. You need to match the product to the current condition of your skin and consider the optimal outcome. Firstly, we recommend identifying your skin type, as different skin types require personalised care. Environmental factors can also come into play, as changing seasons can cause sensitivity and irritation, while sun exposure and pollution can negatively impact the overall skin.

What Are the Best Ingredients for the Eye Area?

Using natural, ultra-hydrating moisturisers is the best way to hydrate the skin. The powerful combinations of natural ingredients in our eye creams and fluids increase the elasticity of delicate skin while unleashing a soothing effect and reducing puffiness. Discover our go-to ingredients below to include in your eye care routine:

Hyaluronic Acid: As featured in the Eye Rescue Serum, this powerful active ingredient helps to boost the skin's hydration levels to leave it beautifully soft and smooth.

Vitamin E: Retaining moisture while fighting free radicals, vitamin E-infused products are essential for caring for the delicate nature of the skin around the eyes.

Rosehip Seed Oil: Infused in our Nourishing Eye Cream, the natural moisturising properties of this vitamin A and C-enriched oil make it an important part of any eye care regime.

How to Apply Eye Cream?

We recommend using our eye products in the morning and evening, just after you have cleansed your skin. The lipid-based ingredients in our eye-care products ensure they will not end up seeping into your eyes – this makes them the perfect base for your makeup.

Before applying, make sure the skin is thoroughly cleansed and mascara removed. Using mild natural cleansers, such as the Soothing Cleansing Milk will gently remove makeup on this delicate area, while the Soothing Toner clarifies the skin to create the ideal canvas for follow-on products, such as eye cream. After using the toner, use your little finger to gently pat the product underneath your eyes, moving from the bridge of your nose to the cheekbone. If you are wondering how much to use, we recommend a pea-sized amount of cream, fluid, or gel for both eyes. When applying products to your upper eyelid, always use a gentle sweeping motion.

For All Skin Types: Eye Rescue Serum

The skin around the eyes has a lot to deal with: Our expressions, UV rays, and constant blue light from our smartphones and computers all harm its elasticity. This practical roll-on stick gently massages the eye area, boosting microcirculation and unleashing an immediate cooling effect that leaves your eyes wide awake and refreshed. Active ingredients like green coffee and hawthorn remove liquid and waste products accumulated around the eyes, visibly reducing swelling. Jasmine removes dark circles around the eyes, while effective ingredients from the baobab plant have a smoothing effect on wrinkles in the area. This cooling gel absorbs quickly, leaving the skin refreshed, firm, and moisturised.

Tip: If your eyes are swollen, you can store your serum in the fridge, as this provides a refreshing cooling effect when applying.

For Normal & Combination Skin: Moisturising Eye Fluid

The luxurious texture of Moisturising Eye Fluid nourishes strengthens and vitalises the sensitive eye area. Active ingredients are immediately absorbed and leave the skin feeling refreshed. Highly effective extracts from knotted kelp and mushrooms moisturise and improve skin elasticity. Sunflower and sesame oils, rich in vitamin E and known for their antioxidant properties, protect the skin from the first signs of ageing. Hyaluronic acid and houseleek extracts provide long-lasting moisture, making the eye area appear fresh and revitalised.

For Dry & Sensitive Skin: Nourishing Eye Cream

The Nourishing Eye Cream supplies the sensitive eye area with generous amounts of evening primrose oil, chamomile, sage, and yarrow. This combination of active ingredients improves the elasticity and flexibility of the sensitive skin around the eyes and provides lasting moisture. After use, the eye area feels relaxed and smooth.

For Mature Skin: Rejuvenating Eye Cream

This highly effective eye cream from Age Preventative Skincare is super-light and penetrates the deepest layers of the skin to help plump and smooth the area. As proven in our clinical studies, where 100% of volunteers noticed a wrinkle depth decrease, this cream is powerful in fighting the first signs of ageing.

Tip: Apply a generous amount of eye cream once a week and let it work overnight as a mask.

Finally, Treat the Lashes & Brows

Full eyelashes and brows also contribute to the appearance of a healthy eye area. If your hair is sparse or thin, one way to help is by using an effective growth serum. Powered by Alpine plant actives, Lash & Brow Serum helps to improve the density and volume of the lashes and brows, resulting in a more defined look. The ideal companion to your eye care, discover this serum as a limited-edition pairing with the Eye Rescue Serum or the Rejuvenating Eye Cream and start to notice more beautiful-looking eyes.
